Musk and company take '@X' username from long-time Twitter user

In efforts to rebrand Twitter into X, Elon Musk's company abruptly took control of the @X handle from a long-time user who had used it since the early days after the social media platform first launched. Until Tuesday evening, the username belonged to Gene X Hwang, a photographer from San Francisco. Hwang told NBC News he's had the handle since 2007 and racked up more than 50,000 followers since. When asked if he received anything in exchange, Hwang said he got an email offering him X merchandise and a trip to the company's headquarters.

Village at Meridian to offer professional Olympic ice-skating lessons

BOISE, Idaho (CBS2) — The Village at Meridian will offer ice-skating lessons this winter starting in November and running through January. The Village says professional ice-skaters will be teaching classes and that these professionals have been trained by Olympic coaches. The lessons will also follow any and all COVID-19 protocols. “We are excited to bring our Olympic program to such a beautiful space this season. Our professional staff is thrilled to offer lessons to patrons of all ages and levels,” said four-time Olympic Coach and director of the program, Craig Maurizi.
